A one-of-a-kind place to relax and enjoy
the wine world of Oregon's Columbia Gorge

A jewel in the Columbia Gorge wine region, Cathedral Ridge Winery invites the visitor to stay a while and enjoy a relaxed stroll through its grounds and vineyards.  Sit for a while by one Relax by Cathedral Ridge vineyardof the vineyards and enjoy a view of Mt Adam's summit; hike to the beautiful meadow above the vineyard, and take in a view of Mt Hood.  Or better yet, attend an event or plan your own in the meadow or on the lawn where guests enjoy a panoramic view of the vineyards and the mountains as well.

Whatever you do, don't pass up an opportunity to include this winery in your personal or group's itinerary of Columbia Gorge wine touring... there is plenty of parking space for any kind of vehicle, including tour busses.  If you decide to stay a while to enjoy the area, you can talk to the folks next door at Vineyard View Bed and Breakfast where special discounts are offered to winery customers and Wine Club members.

Adding to the visual treat of Cathedral Ridge's location are the unusual characteristics of its terroir.  The winery sits in the middle of the Cascade Range, where a stirring of marine air from the west and dry desert air from the east creates a rapid transition of ecosystems... from thick Douglas fir to scrub oak and Ponderosa pine.  This unique transitional zone makes possible the growing of a wide variety of grapes.

On the outside chance that the majesty of this location is of little interest to you, consider the wines and winemaker of Cathedral Ridge - formerly Flerchinger Vineyards.  Today's Cathedral Ridge maintains the best of its predecessor's wines and produces its own distinctive wines at the hands of winemaker Michael Sebastiani who brings his California family's passion for winemaking to the Cathedral Ridge scene.

The most popular Flerchinger wines - its White Riesling, Blush, and Halbtrocken (a "half-dry," secret blend of five varietals) - continue to be produced under the Flerchinger label.  Sebastiani expresses his talent and enthusiasm for Northwest wine grapes in his production of all Cathedral Ridge wines as well, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Riesling.

Rain or shine, Cathedral Ridge Winery insures a great time for all, whether you come to visit on your own or to join a group and the festivities

of planned events.  The winery's tasting room is drenched with light, a perfect match for its light-hearted staff.  Large, covered areas extend from the winery, beautified by huge, flowering pots and hanging baskets; and a sweeping lawn stretches to a vineyard's edge, creating a perfect area for outdoor activities, al fresco dining and picnics.

Come tour the agriculturally rich Hood River Valley and take time to visit Cathedral Ridge Winery... a one-of-a-kind place to relax and enjoy the wonderful world of Oregon's Columbia Gorge wine country.

2006 Pinot Noir

[Order Now]

Our 2006 Pinot Noir is a wonderful wine that showcases the beautiful fruit grown in the Bangsund vineyard in The Dalles, Oregon.  The site is very steep; turned slightly Southeast and is very hot at times.  Every night cooling breezes come down from Mount Hood covering every cluster with dew.  This is our second year making Pinot Noir since finding the appropriate vineyard at John Bangsund’s ranch.  Soft, elegant and smooth.  Cherry and cranberry flavors swirl around in the soft tannins, hinting at black olives and cocoa.  An excellent food wine!
Our Pinot Noir this year is 100% Pinot Noir fruit.
