OVERVIEW MAP for estate wineries

These
wineries grow or use at least some, if not all, grapes grown in the Puget Sound Appellation's cool climate...
a climate similar to that of the Loire Valley in France.
Wine grape varieties grown in
the Puget Sound appellation include Pinot Noir, Madeleine Angevine, Müller Thurgau,
Siegerrebe, Chasselas and Island Belle. The latter is a hybrid
developed by an early resident of the Puget Sound. Pinot gris is
also grown here, as well as in the warmer clime of Washington appellations on the east side
of the Cascade Mountains. If you have the opportunity to taste
Pinot gris wines from both sides of the Cascades, you will no doubt taste significant,
pleasurable differences -- differences brought about by the varying terroir.
Check our "Taste Puget Sound" overview map
and plan a tasting tour of some Puget Sound wineries. You will find
more than a few enchanting locations; what could be more charming than a ferry ride to wine country or a lazy
rural drive toward the foot of a spectacular mountain?
